Southcity athletes in top form

Asher House emerged as the winners of Southcity Christian College’s Interhouse Athletics recently.

The senior track event winners were Hannah Nero and Alex Naranjo, and the senior field event winners were McKayla du Bruyn and Gareth Pieterse.

In the Juniors, the track event winners were Megan de Kock and Scott Taylor and the field event winners were Ella Drummond and Sibamba Madikizela.

The Senior Victor and Victrix Ludorum were Gareth Pieterse and Hannah Nero, while the Junior Victor and Victrix Ludorum honours went to Scott Taylor and Ella Drummond.

On Saturday, the Southcity Christian College athletics team participated in the Interschools Athletics hosted by Kingsway.

There were 14 girls teams and 14 boys teams from KZN Midlands, Durban area and South Coast that participated.

The Southcity girls placed second overall, and the Southcity boys came fifth overall.

Southcity achieved a number of first places with Olo Sakwe coming first in the U16 Boys 100m, 200m and 400m, McKayla du Bruyn coming first in the 100m and High Jump, Ethan Chapman winning the U15 Shotput, Scott Taylor winning the U14 400m and the U16 girls winning the relay. We placed regularly in second, third and fourth as well.
