Several Southcity players crack KZN Coastals hockey teams

Several Southcity boys and girls hockey players have been chosen for KZN Coastals teams.

Hannah Nero has been selected for the Under-18 B hockey side. She was also named a non-travelling reserve for the Under-18 A team.

Sarah-Joy Pringle was selected as a non-travelling reserve for the Under-16 B girls side.

A number of boys were selected for D (Country Districts) teams.

Gareth Pieterse and Lelethu Mnisi were included in the Under-16 team, where Phum Shezi is a non-travelling reserve.

Named in the Under-14 side are Seth Nero, Nkazimilo Mphumlwana, Simamkele Nikane and Sibamba Madikizela, with Scott Taylor named non-travelling reserve.

Meanwhile, the Southcity Junior Primary boys soccer and girls hockey teams participated in the Port Edward Sports Day. Southcity sent six team teams to participate.

The girls hockey played three matches each and the boys soccer played four matches each. The pupils had great fun and all games were played in good spirit.

The Senior Primary had fixtures against Port Edward last week. The Under-11 girls hockey lost 0-3, the Under-13 boys hockey won 1-0, the Under-11 netball lost 0-8, the Under-11 boys rugby won 55-0 and the Under-13 netball won 11-3.
