Southcity Christian College has once again maintained its status as one of the top Academic schools on the South Coast.
Not only does the school have an average of 1.22 distinctions per person and a 100% pass rate, but every pupil who passed the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) National Senior Certificate (NSC) Examination, also achieved Tertiary Study entry pass rates.
A breakdown of the pass rate reveals that 72.73% achieved Bachelor degree passes, 22.73% achieved Diploma passes and 4.55% achieved entry for study at the Higher Certificate level.
The school obtained 54 A’s and 71 B’s in total, with the Life Orientation and Mathematic Literacy Departments obtaining 15 distinctions each.
Three pupils are in the top 1% in the country; Head Girl Amy Henson and Candyce Kloppers are in the top 1% for Maths Lit and Jake Bailey Sloan is in the top 1% for Geography.
Five standout students in particular achieved outstanding results.
Jake achieved six A’s and two B’s, Amy obtained six A’s and one B, Jonathan Francesconi obtained five A’s and three B’s, Deputy Head Boy, Graeme Bester, obtained three A’s and four B’s, Mikaela Tommasini obtained three A’s and three B’s and Head Boy, Stephan Smit, obtained two A’s and three B’s.
