The Surf to the Turf golf day held at Southbroom Golf Club on Sunday was a massive success.

Some 64 golfers teed it up to raise funds for members of South Shore Surf Club who have been selected to represent Ugu Surfriders at the Sea Harvest South African Junior Championships in October.

The winners of the American scramble fourball alliance were Jaco van der Waal, Deon Meyer, Zanru Coetzee and Guy Spittal.

Making the day, that included a lunch, live entertainment by The Gentry and an auction, even more memorable was multi-time world kneeboarding champion Gigs Celliers (pictured), who was the guest speaker.

Louis Boshoff was the dedicated auctioneer and a custom hand-crafted Big Tree wooden surfboard was sold for over R5000.

The event was enjoyed by all the junior surfers and golfers and will become an annual event. South Shore Surf Club thanks all the players and sponsors who made the event the success that it was.
