The South Coast Bass Association recently held their annual general meeting to close off another successful year for the club.

The meeting, held in Margate, was used to showcase the best of the best as well as to establish a new committee for the next calendar year.

Ferro van Greunen was crowned overall champion for the second time in three years, followed closely by Boet Stewart.

Biggest bass for the year was caught by Thys Hoffman. In total, 115 fish were weighed for the year.

Newly elected chairman Thys Hoffman (heaviest bass) congratulated by Ferro van Greunen (club champion).

Hoffman was voted in as new Club Chairman, with Hennie Ferreira as vice. JJ Eales was voted in as Club Secretary and Treasurer.

Hoffman thanked the outgoing Chairman, Anthony Card, for all his hard work as well as previous Treasurer and Secretary, Joggie and Cheryl de Winnaar respectively.

The club would like to thank all members for all the effort throughout the year and extend a special blessing to Shawn Stewart, who is immigrating to New Zealand.

The South Coast Bass Association would like to thank our sponsors: M Projects, Craft Hardware, Ravin’s Auto, Tiger Wheel and Tyre Shelly Beach, Fresh Meat, County Ford, 4 U Bookkeeper, Lake Eland, Lucky’s Manaba and Port Shepstone and Buhr Parry & Co. Your support throughout the year is greatly appreciated.

All anglers look forward to starting another prosperous year with the first club fish-off for the year on 24 June.
