Ex-Proteas star banks win at Port Shepstone Country Club

Former Proteas opening batsman Rudi Steyn led the Sportweni team to victory in the Nedbank Private Bank Business Day golf competition at Port Shepstone Country Club on Friday.

Rudi and Ilse Steyn, along with Jennifer Duncan (pictured above), won by one on 90 points. Bruce Holmes, Allan Rowley and Thys and Devan Eckhout finished second with Jesse Verster, Tony Fairbairn, Dave Higgins and Steve McCarroll finishing third on 86 points.

The Sea Warriors (runners-up in the Business Day competition).

Saturday’s Betterball Stableford competition went down to a count out, which saw Brian Jolliffe and Anton Kohrmann pip Grant Peterson and Donovan Scowby to take the spoils on 47. Alberto dos Santos and Leon Reeders placed third on 45.

Craig Lindsay and Gary Vogt won the betterball stableford competition played earlier in the week. Their winning score on Wednesday was 44. Abel Yeeranna and Smittie Stieger came second on 43 while Tony Beech and Rob Calder won a count out for third place on 42.
