While golfers across South Africa were in seventh heaven as they made their long-awaited returns to their favourite courses at the weekend, few had a more memorable first round back than local ace Zuanru Coetzee.

After 79 long days without golf due to the national lockdown, the sport was finally given the all clear and Coetzee hit the ground running with a hole-in-one on the 17th hole at Port Shepstone Country Club.

The superb shot helped Coetzee, who plays off a 10 handicap, to sign for a gross 76 on Saturday.

He also escaped the traditional bar bill with 19th holes still being closed under Level 3 lockdown.
