It was an eventful weekend at Port Shepstone Country Club.

Saturday saw golfers compete for the Monthly Mug honours. Walking away with the mug on nett 70 was Albert dos Santos.

The A Division came down to a count out, which saw Greg Hornby shade Gavin van Wyk on nett 72.

Dave Mee won the B Division, also on nett 72, with Stewart Betts behind him in second place on nett 73. The C Division was won comfortably by Johann du Plessis on nett 71, three ahead of runner-up Chris Boyce.

Kai Hielckert boasted the best gross (74). The Van der Merwes took the top two places in the individual stableford, with Deucullen getting the win on 42 points and Sheldon finishing second on 40.

The previous day’s Beekman/Umthunzi Golf Day attracted a full field and was tightly contested.

Winning on a count out on 90 points were Anne Baldrey, Di Nadauld, Liana Klopper and Barbara Rousseau.

Frik van Zyl, Robin Shuttleworth, Kim Howden and Dawn Howden had to settle for second place while Springbok legend Rudi Visagie was once again in the prizes, finishing third with teammates Thys Blom, Jaco van Rensburg and Hendrik Janse van Rensburg on a count out on 89.
