There was excitement in the air as silverware was up for grabs at Southbroom Golf Club over the weekend.

Paul Lawson lifted the Captain’s Trophy with a winning score of 77 nett, while her 78 nett landed Rene Matthew the Curlewis Shield on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the club held its third street party on Friday evening.

Over 320 Southbroomers and friends enjoyed the special evening, key among them being Dawne Murray, who conceptualised the annual celebration and enjoyed her table of friends and family so soon after her double knee replacement.

It was an excellent evening with Winston Smile entertaining all in his amazing energetic style.
