The 2015 Port Shepstone Lions/Illovo Sugar Golf Day held at Port Shepstone Country Club on Saturday was a great success.

There was a full field of players and main sponsors Illovo Sugar generously donated R30 000 to the Lions Club of Port Shepstone for their community service projects.

“The club is extremely grateful to Illovo Sugar and the Port Shepstone Country Club as well as all other sponsors and golfers who contributed towards the success of this very enjoyable annual project.

“Well done to Project Convener Lion Gary Vogt and his team for all their fine efforts,” said club PRO Denis Meyer.

Naveshin Moodley and Benny Pillay won the competition on 48 points.

In second place on 47 points on a count out were Charles Crebo and Rakesh Chathagoon.

Paul and Jean van Tichelen finished third on 47 points (count out), with Ramo Nohar and Pranesh Maharaj fourth on 47 points (count out).

Nearest to the pin were Det Wichmann on the 5th, Gerhard Oosthuizen on the 14th and Jaco Buitendag on the 17th.
