Heavy rains saw the Port Shepstone golf course being flooded earlier this week.
Due to the river mouth being closed, the water levels once again rose, which led to some serious flooding on the course.
Jesse Verster, John Beekman, Howard Crouch and the river mouth team monitored the levels closely and permission was then granted for an excavator to open up the river mouth.
The team has been hailed for their efforts for had the dam walls burst, the clubhouse would have been flooded.
Instead, golfers can once again take up their favourite past time at Port Shepstone Country Club.
