Offices made way for grass and astroturf as Port Shepstone Hockey Club held their business tournament at Creston College on Sunday.
The cold and wet weather didn’t rain on players’ parade as 12 teams converged on the college for the fun five-a-side tournament.
A round-robin was held after which teams got a taste of the astroturf for their final game.
In the end, hockey was the winner, while the Beekman Bulldogs won the Most Spirited Team prize.
“The tournament was a great success. All the teams had fun and we brought together a mixture of new and experienced players,” Port Shepstone Hockey Club chairman Donovan Rothman told eHowzit.
“Thanks to Creston College for the use of their fields and astro, as well as Powerade and all the many sponsors who donated prizes towards the day.
“This event is fast becoming a talked about date on locals’ calendars. It was so nice to see two teams from the Round Table enter for the first time as well as a very spirited Beekman Group team.
“Thank you once again to all the teams that entered and we look forward to hosting you all again at the beginning of next year,” he added.
