Gavin Sole will once again captain KwaZulu-Natal in the South African Inter-Provincial Tournament.
The Southbroom veteran has long led KwaZulu-Natal’s charge and will do so again in this year’s tournament taking place at Mbombela Golf Club in Nelspruit from 16-20 September.
Sole guided his side to B-Section glory in 2016 and steered the ship in their first two years back in the A-Section. They finished third at Bryanston Country Club in 2017 and fourth at Oubaai Golf Club in 2018 and will want to make a run at the title this year.
Joining Sole in the side are Jason Broomhead and Jonothan Broomhead (both Durban CC), Jason Gilliver (Umdoni Park), Tom Lovett (Prince’s Grant), Greg McKay, Siyanda Mwandla and Derek Scullard (all MECC), with Margate Country Club legend Ivan Curlewis set to continue his role as manager.
Sole, who led Southern KwaZulu-Natal to KwaZulu-Natal Country Districts Interzone glory and won the Southern KwaZulu-Natal Closed earlier this year, will also captain KwaZulu-Natal at the Mid-Amateur Inter-Provincial Tournament taking place from 7-11 October at King David Mowbray Golf Club.
There, he will lead the side of Lovett, Scullard, Graham Dickinson (Maritzburg GC), Koenie Erasmus (Umhlali), Ashwin Krishen (DCC), Leon Naidoo (DCC) and Corne van Deventer (Vryheid), with Neil Champion set to serve as manager.
