The former hockey star shot 79 on Saturday and 76 on Sunday to complete a club championship hat-trick.
Sandi Burger came out on top in the silver division on 180, shading young Simone Ferreira by one, Jenny Hulley won the bronze division on 196 and Liana Klopper clinched the copper division on 220.
The weekend belonged to Strauss though, whose competition highlights included birdies on 17 and 18 on Day One.
“It feels great to get the win! Our ladies section is strong and to come out on top feels wonderful,” Strauss told eHowzit.
“Managing to pull off a hat-trick is special because the ladies playing at Sheppie are incredible golfers. I think we’re the only club in the country with such a high calibre of golfers both on and off the course, so to be a part of the section and win is an honour.”
Strauss said it was a good tournament all around and said it was a privilege to play the last day with KZNLGA president, Jane Lind.
“I’m pretty pleased with my performance. I wanted to shoot two rounds under 80 and I did. There are strong golfers in our ladies section as I said, and nothing could be taken for granted.
“Well done to each and every lady that took part in the club champs. Strokeplay isn’t an easy game and for everyone to play 36 holes is a testament to our ladies section.
“I’m proud to be a member of the ladies section and wish all the ladies a successful year ahead.”
