Strauss still the gold standard at Sheppie Country Club

Kim Strauss won the ladies strokeplay club championship for the fourth year in a row at Port Shepstone Country Club on Sunday.

The former hockey star continued her reign atop the Sheppie ladies golf section with a gross 160.

Sandi Burger also retained her crown, the silver division trophy, on 185.

Cecelia Verster won the bronze division on 193 and Barbara Rousseau clinched the copper division on 202.

Seventeen players featured in the 36-hole club championship sponsored by Hulley van Wyk Garrun Insurance Brokers.

Three other annual awards were also presented during prize-giving. Strauss received the matchplay trophy she’d previously earned, Klopper and Annette Thorold lifted the Lila Smit trophy while Ilse Steyn won the Most Improved Player award.
