SUSPECTED HEROIN DEALER NABBED

The vehicle was searched and about 400 heroin capsules were found.

Trivern Piyarilal (30) was arrested by the Hawks’ South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau near Umkomaas last Wednesday for allegedly dealing in heroin.

Hawks members acted on information received involving the accused who was reportedly a regular in transporting consignments of drugs to the South Coast.

The team, consisting of Crime Intelligence and Durban Metro police, monitored Piyarilal for several days prior to his arrest.

The vehicle was searched and about 400 heroin capsules were found.

The capsules were seized by police and the accused has since appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court. He was remanded back into custody and expected to reappear on February 26 for a bail hearing.
