Local superstar Wade Young (Sherco) got the job done on home soil when he won the South Coast EnduroX in Margate on Sunday.

The first round of the Powasol EnduroX Series featured the country’s best enduro, motocross, trials and fun riders and wrapped up the South Coast Bike Fest #SCBF2017 on a thrilling note.

After an enthralling day of action at Margate Fishing Pier, the three inform riders in South African enduro racing made up the podium of the first beach-side endurocross event in South Africa.

Paddock’s Young reigned in front of his home crowd, Travis Teasdale (KTM) finished second and Oslo Beach’s Blake Gutzeit (Bidvest bLU cRU Yamaha), the superenduro junior world champion, placed third.

The trio finished in the same positions in the prologue of the King of the Hill Hard Enduro in Romania recently, which Young went on to win.

“It’s good to be on the top step with these world-class guys,” said Young.

Gutzeit commented, “Third today wasn’t what we wanted, but I really enjoyed racing endurocross in my home town. Thanks to the enthusiastic spectators, friends and family.”
