Mac Banana Wanderers will carry the hopes of the South Coast on their shoulders in the DSR/SAFA Ugu Regional Presidential Challenge Cup next weekend.

The Wanderers earned this right after they won all three of their qualifying matches at Breamar Sport Ground at the weekend.

The club beat Young Stars 1-0 and went on to thump All For One 5-0 before they edged Gamalakhe United 8-7 in a tense penalty shootout to win the Southern Steam elimination round.

Gamalakhe United ravished Rising Stars 3-0, beat Leon Madrid 1-0 and defeated Jabulani United 1-0 prior to their nail-biting loss to Mac Banana Wanderers.

The three other elimination games all went to penalty shootouts, with Leon Madrid beating Casino 6-5, Jabulani United beating Mvutshini Tigers 6-5 and All For One pipping Breamar United 7-6.

Real Heroes won the Northern Steam elimination round to book their place in the DSR/SAFA Ugu Regional Presidential Challenge Cup along with Mac Banana Wanderers and six Promotional League teams that are yet to be confirmed.

The teams return to league action this weekend.
