Southbroom Golf Club’s resident PGA pro Derek James is back with another training tip.
“This week’s tip is about putting. It is all about drill-a-lot, and then play and let it happen,” says James.
“The drill is done on the practice green under a string. It works your posture, aim, keeping the putter head on line, release, hold and pace to name but a few. These pointers you should drill on the practice green and not on the course.
“Then when you play – just let it happen. That is what I am drilling with the five balls around the hole. Do not think too much when you are on the course and especially in a competition. Let your hard work on the practice green simply happen on the course. No tension!”
