STATEMENT BY UGU SOUTH COAST TOURISM:

WATCH OUT… for incredible national and international television exposure for the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast

Whilst the Cell C SA Women’s Open team are hard at work, so are several television production crews working alongside them. And assisting them is South Coast Tourism, proudly facilitating their production requirements.

This includes hosting and filming two of the top golfers on an exhilarating day out, pushing their comfort zone boundaries by attempting the highest swing in the world.

These activities bring excellent exposure to the South Coast’s famed hinterland, where the millennia old, majestic Oribi Gorge offers visitors a very unexpected experience. After all, the South Coast is not all about beaches.

In addition to the international exposure, here is some inside information as to Espresso’s broadcast schedule, the content thereof and some dates to diarise:

There will be a 1 x 4 minute studio interview with both Pro and with Tournament representatives with a further explanation as to why the SA Women’s Open has a sustained use of the South Coast for this event. This interview was pre-recorded on Monday 6 October in Cape Town with Barbara Pestana (from the WPGA) and Cherry Moulder (participating pro).

– This was broadcast on Friday 10 October.

There will be 4 x inserts of 1 minute each – This includes golfing tips by Pro’s who will be participating in the event. These will be broadcast on separate days leading up to the event, to keep awareness up. The KZN shoot is done on one of the South Coast courses and the Pro references the stunning South Coast selection of championship and club courses.

Nicola and Melissa Eaton were filmed on location on Thursday 9 October at San Lameer.

– These will be broadcast on Monday 13, Tuesday 14, Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 October.

A sports segment of 2 minutes will be broadcast on Friday 17th, which will be update on how the first day went, and reinforcing the fact that the event is underway and people should go watch. The presenter will plug the stunning South Coast beach and golf destinations.

– There will be a further results wrap-up segment of 2 min broadcast on Monday 20th.

A 4 minute Event coverage insert which will be shot on location and includes an interview with Ugu South Coast Tourism’s Chairperson (and avid golfer) Joy Crutchfield on the South Coast’s golf tourism offerings.

– This will then be broadcast on Tuesday 21 October.

Here’s wishing the Cell C’s SA Women’s Open team and all participants the very best of luck, and a sincere thank you to the organizers for arranging for such excellent coverage. And of course, more to follow on the international coverage. So watch out… it’s time for the South Coast to shine. Are you attending the tournament? We certainly hope to see you there. The event takes place between the 16th and 19th October at San Lameer on the Hibiscus Coast.
